Slick Rick is an English-American rapper and record producer. He is considered a pioneer of storytelling in hip-hop, and is one of the most sampled hip-hop artists. He is also known as Rick the Ruler and MC Ricky D.

Slick Rick is the son of Veronica Hyman and Melton Walters, who both emigrated to England from Jamaica. When he was twelve years old, the family moved to Baychester, The Bronx, New York. Slick Rick is married to Mandy Aragones, and has two children.
