Jerry Butler Jr. is a retired American singer-songwriter, producer, musician, and politician. He is also known as the lead singer of R&B group The Impressions, as well as a 1991 independent artist. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. & Blues in 2015. Since leaving The Impressions, Jerry has had over 55 Billboard Pop and R&B Chart hits as a solo artist, including 15 Hot 100 Pop Top 40 hits and 15 R&B Top 10 hits. He was Commissioner for Cook County, Illinois, from 1985 to 2018. As a member of this 17-member district council, he chairs the medical and hospital committee and is the vice-chair of the construction committee.
