He is the son of Joyce Trabulus, a music manager, and Neil Bogart (born Neil Scott Bogatz), a record executive, who founded Casablanca Records.
E. Kidd’s paternal grandfather was Abraham M. “Al” Bogart/Bogatz (the son of Sam Bogatz and Dora Rolnick). Dora was the daughter of Louis Rolnick and Fanny Weisberg, whose parents were from Minsk, Belarus.
