Mary Jo Catlett is an American actress. She is one of the main actors in the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants, voicing Ms. Puff. She is also known for her role as Ernestina in the play Hello, Dolly! and play Pearl Gallagher, Diff'rent Strokes' third butler. Catlett was born in Denver, Colorado, where she performed in numerous plays and eventually ran a Pirates of Penzance company. During the 1960s and 1970s, she starred in Off-Broadway and Broadway musicals, often taking on humorous and light roles. Since the late 1960s, Catlett has appeared on television shows such as MA * S * H, The Dukes of Hazzard, and General Hospital. Catlett received the Los Angeles Drama Critics Association Award in 1978 and 1980, nominated for Best Musical Actress at the Ovation Awards in 1995, and nominated for an Emmy by Day in the 1990's.
