Claudio Paul Caniggia is a former Argentinian professional footballer who played as either a striker or a winger. Caniggia has played 50 times for the Argentina national team. He has played three World Cups and is a member of two rival clubs, River Plate and Boca Juniors. In the 1990 FIFA World Cup, Caniggia scored two important goals to help Argentina reach the final. In the tournament opener against Cameroon, he was fouled three times in a dribble, the last time he was knocked out and Benjamin Massing received a red card.
